Exchange program and served as a leadership team member for National 4-H Congress in Atlanta. She has judged livestock for the University of Wyoming and Northeastern Junior College. McKenna will graduate next May with a degree in Molecular Biology and double minor in Soil Science and Chemistry. She has another internship with Corteva lined up following graduation to work with alfalfa research in Washington state. She plans to pursue a Ph.D. in plant breeding with emphasis on alfalfa to fulfill a career goal of helping farmers in western states by enhancing the productivity of drought-tolerant alfalfa. MaceyGoretska Oklahoma State University Macey serves as Secretary of the Block and Bridle, officer for Leaders of Excellence in Animal and Food Sciences, and member of Collegiate Cattlewomen. Previously at Redlands College, she was Vice President of the Aggie Club and served as an Ag Ambassador. Macey has also been involved with the Iowa Junior Beef Breeds Association, Stock Show University and as a beef advocate for the American National Cattlewomen. Her internship experiences have included Reprologix: Reproductive Technologies, Showtimes Magazine and Express Ranches. She was an undergraduate research scholar with Applied Research Program in Natural Sciences. Macey has been a member of highly competitive livestock and meat animal evaluation teams at Redlands College and Oklahoma State University with multiple top five team and top ten individual overall finishes including High Individual Overall at the Dixie National. She will graduate from Oklahoma State with an Animal Science degree and then plans to pursue Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in small ruminant reproductive physiology.
presented the research findings at the Midwest American Society of Animal Science meetings and at an Undergraduate Research competition. She is a member of the North American Limousin Foundation, North American Junior Limousin, National Cattlemen’s and Colorado Cattlemen’s Associations. She was a recipient of the prestigious Gardiner Angus Ranch Scholar Award. She was high individual overall at the Iowa Beef Expo as a livestock judging team member, sixth high individual overall on the National Champion Meat Animal Evaluation team and judged livestock at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado where she was recognized as a National Junior College All American. She was selected five times as member of the Colorado All State 4-H Livestock Judging Team and was High Individual Overall at the State FFA Livestock Judging Contest. Sydney will graduate with a degree in Animal Sciences and Industry and plans to attend graduate school with a focus on Ruminant Nutrition and ultimately pursue a career as a consulting nutritionist for the cattle feeding industry. McKenna Carnahan University of Wyoming She is Vice President of Collegiate Cattle Association and Block and Bridle club. McKenna conducted an undergraduate research project on “Quantification of Protein-to-Protein Interactions in Bacterial Cytoplasm” and served as a laboratory teaching assistant for the Department of Microbiology. She participated in several internships including field research intern with Corteva Ag Science and agronomy internships with Schneider Farms and Frenchman Valley Coop. She participated in briefings with the Farm Service Agency in Washington, D.C. as part of National 4-H Conference, traveled to Finland with the 4-H International
Kaitlin is Vice President of Alpha of Clovia House, Director of Social Planning for Block and Bridle, Social Media voice for K-State Animal Sciences and member of the Meat Science Undergraduate Research Sensory Panel. She was also a legislative intern for State Representative John Lawrence in Pennsylvania, President of the Pennsylvania Junior Angus Association and member of the Executive Committee which planned the 2020 National Junior Angus Show. She competed on the National Champion Meat Animal Evaluation team in addition to meat and livestock judging teams. Kaitlin was a National 4-H All American in livestock judging and competed in the Royal Highland Contest in Scotland. She is majoring in Agribusiness with a minor in Animal Science and is a recipient of Purina and Angus Foundation national scholarships. She plans to pursue a position in large animal pharmaceutical sales immediately following graduation next month and eventually attend Texas Tech University School of Law with an interest in agricultural law to serve farmers and ranchers. SydneyBowman Kansas State University Sydney is a Goldwater Scholar, Administrative Director for Block and Bridle, National Western Stock Show Youth Mentor and student worker for the Sheep and Goat Research Unit. She has been an intern with Five Rivers Cattle Feeding, Essential Show Feeds and the American Salers, Aberdeen and South Devon Associations. She has been heavily involved in undergraduate research on a project to evaluate the effect Lactobacillus and Bacillis probiotics on pre-ruminating calf health and growth performance. Sydney
