The Grey Areas Trusting in God who knows our heart and wants a relationship with us.

s we start off our show season with new steers and try to conquer the attitudes on a couple, we change our showmanship

Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 10:23-24, “23 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. 24 No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.” Very seldom does anyone question murder, stealing, or adultery and wonder if it’s a sin. We have all heard the Ten Commandments. The basics are spelled out for us. Even if something isn’t specifically written about in the Bible, we have to ask ourselves if it is constructive or beneficial. The grey areas have been a controversy for centuries, or there wouldn’t be so many different Christian denominations with different perceptions of the same Bible. It doesn’t really have to be that difficult. If it doesn’t bring honor and glory to God, its just not worth doing. We can argue all day long about things

being a sin or being acceptable, but if you have to convince yourself that it’s not a sin, chances are pretty good that the answer is already there. While we might let things slide in the show ring for the first couple shows, our Christian values should hold steady. Jesus died for our sins. His blood washed them white as snow. Not grey. ●

standards a little. We hear ourselves saying things like “that’s close enough” or “choose your battles”. What is completely unacceptable at the majors is suddenly more acceptable. While we know their attitudes will get better and Libbi will get them fine-tuned, we let a lot of things slide early in the game. Things like being straight in line and foot placement become grey areas. There are times in life we let things slide as well, even though we know it’s not right. Many times, I’ve heard people jokingly say, “where does it say in the Bible I can’t do that?” While the Bible is very direct about some things, others may come down to our interpretation.
