NWSS Executive Director of Agricultural Events & Competitions MaKayla Hoffman serves as the Executive Director of Agricultural Events & Competitions for the National Western Stock Show, where she leads the planning and execution of the organization’s livestock and equine events and competitions. In her role, she is focused on creating exceptional experiences for exhibitors, competitors, industry partners, and guests while developing new opportunities that strengthen agriculture, celebrate Western heritage, and engage the next generation. Hoffman brings a diverse background in agricultural events, livestock marketing, and show management, with previous experience at Superior Livestock Auction and Express Ranches. Throughout her career, she has worked with and participated in many of North America’s premier agricultural events, including the National Western Stock Show, Canadian Western Agribition, American Royal, Cattlemen’s Congress, and North American International Livestock Exposition. At the heart of Hoffman’s agricultural background is a deep passion for the commercial cattle industry. She resides in Akron, Colorado, where she is an owner and operator of a 900-head commercial Red Angus cow-calf operation. Her hands-on involvement in production agriculture gives her a unique perspective on the challenges, opportunities, and values that shape today’s cattle industry. From the ranch to the sale ring and show ring, Hoffman’s career has been built around a genuine love for the people, livestock, and traditions of the beef industry. Her connection to the equine industry began at an early age and has remained an important part of her agricultural
journey. Hoffman grew up competing through 4-H and open horse shows before advancing to competition through the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), South Central Stock Horse Association (SCSHA), and at the collegiate level. Her experience as both a competitor and event professional has given her a strong understanding of show operations, exhibitor needs, and the traditions that make equine events an essential part of the Western industry. With a lifelong connection to agriculture and a passion for bringing people together, Hoffman is committed to honoring the traditions of the National Western while bringing fresh ideas and opportunities to its livestock
and equine programs. Through her
leadership, she aims to strengthen industry relationships, expand opportunities for youth and exhibitors, and help ensure the National Western continues to be a premier gathering place for agriculture and the Western way of life. ●
