My name is Shawn Rothe and I am from Greeley, CO. I just recently exhibited the Grand Champion Market Steer at the 2026 Colorado State Fair. Winning the Colorado State Fair with my steer, MJ, was an unforgettable experience and one of the proudest moments of my life. The most special part of this win is that this was my first time showing at the Colorado State Fair and the only calf I’ve ever brought to show. This win would not have been possible without relationships I have built. I want to thank Pfannebecker Cattle Co., the Patton boys, Tucker Green, and especially my family, but most importantly my mom, Marilyn, for making all of this happen behind the scenes. My dad passed a few years ago, but without him and his guidance, I never would have gotten into this industry and for that I thank him every day. the amazing crew I have formed and the This win represents months of hard work from all of us

It takes a village to be able to feed one to the quality needed to compete at the Colorado State Fair let alone the quality needed to win, and everyone involved should feel as proud as I do. Standing in the show ring and receiving that first handshake, showed that all my hard work come together which was an indescribable feeling. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to show and grow up in an industry that teaches us important life lessons at such a young age. Winning at the Colorado State Fair is more than just winning a banner or buckle—it is a reflection of perseverance, dedication, and the lessons learned throughout the entire experience. I will always be thankful for the memories, challenges, and opportunities that came with raising and showing MJ. This is an accomplishment I will proudly remember for years to come. ●
