Showing cattle is something our entire family does together. My dad manages much of the feeding, my mom works alongside us in the barn and manages the show details, and my brother Creed and I share the daily rinsing, feeding and barn chores. We cover for each other when one of us has a game because there are no days off when it comes to caring for livestock. My youngest brother, Crew, who we call “Crew Chief,” keeps us laughing. We are also fortunate to have Caleb and Rachel Streitmatter, Brian and Jayde Ketring, the Warnock family, Tim Schaeffer and his crew, and our extended Kober and Faber families supporting us. They help at shows and at home, and I am grateful for all of them. Outside the show ring, I play baseball and basketball, work hard to maintain strong grades and help on our family farm, especially during planting and harvest. Balancing school, sports,
farming and cattle has taught me discipline, time management and commitment. I know many exhibitors work just as hard at home and that a win like this requires everything to come together on the right day. That is something I will never take for granted. The banner will always mean a lot, but I will remember the hours with Roxy and accomplishing something this special alongside my family even more. ●
