myself, I didn’t want any part of it. All I wanted to do at shows was help fit. Wow, has that changed in the past four years. I finally took a chance and went into the ring at a tiny jackpot show in Indiana. What I was afraid would happen actually did: I got knocked down two steps into the ring, and the heifer ended up on top of me. Luckily, I only had some scrapes and bruises, but I didn’t want to go back into the ring. My mom and I started praying this verse: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9). I thought this was just
