Old School is Cool...and Predictable!!

I’VE ABSOLUTLY LOVED THIS FEAMLE SINCE THE MINUTE I FIRST LAYED EYES ON HER. Sometimes you just get lucky… And I sure did when I bought this great female off a picture and a video from my good friends at Yorges Show Cattle just up the road in Torrington, WY. When she stepped off the trailer I knew she was special. Then she laid down and had a beautiful baldy heifer calf and it was game on… She hasn’t missed a beat. She is a daughter of Donor 974 that Yorges purchased from VANHOVE CATTLE CO. I respect Rob Vanhove and his cowherd as much as any in the business. Sometimes you just get lucky… So, as I am very impatiently waiting for the first Icon Semen, 5220 was started on shots and no word from Phil so I bred her to Ain’t Bluffin… AND SO I PRESENT YOU LOT 1A “AIN’T KIDDIN”!!! I’VE GOT BIG PLANS FOR THIS COW… ICON… AND MORE AIN’T BLUFFINS FOR STARTERS…JOIN ME ON WHATS SURE TO BE A WILD RIDE!!!

I could be prouder of the fact that this great bull is sired by a bull I raised and sold an interest in thru The Western Elite. Ain’t Bluffin is proudly co-owned with VANHOVE CATTLE CO … And “AIN’T KIDDIN” IS OUT OF A PURE VANHOVE BRED female… THAT’S GOOD STUFF . As I was working on these first two pages of the catalog I saw on the Pulse that Robbie’s Catalog was posted online. THE FIRST AIN’T BLUFFIN BREDS IN THAT OFFERING ARE UNBELIVABLE!!! Ain’t Bluffin has created a lot of good stuff, on a lot of different kinds of cattle, with thus far not a lot of use… BUT THAT’S ABOUT TO CHANGE !!! The picture and the video pretty much tell the story… But it will be amplified about TEN-FOLD when you see AIN’T KIDDIN IN REAL LIFE . FURTHER PROOF OF THE WIDE RANGE OF QUALITY AND CONSITENCEY OF AIN’T BLUFFIN… A GREAT BREEDING BULL!!! Co-Owned with VanHove Cattle Co, SD.

DONOR DAMS & FOUNDATION YOUNG COWS

SELLING ONE HALF INTEREST – POSSESSION AND/ OR THE OPTION TO DOUBLE UP AND OWN HER ALL IS NEGOTIABLE AFTER THE SALE. We have sold a lot of Bred Heifers sired by Maternal Made the last several years…they sold well and we have had a lot of good feedback on them. This group of incredible young cows are from the first crop of Maternal Made’s born at DCC… Quite honestly, I’ve been hoarding them. This cow was my favorite MM calf ever born at DCC. You can’t see it in the picture, but this is the one with white snip on her nose. Everyone that has been through my cows in the last four years remembers her. Folks she has all the bells and whistles…Big hipped, great boned, huge bodied, crazy neck set and a running gear made for the big time. I have one request, give me first shot at your half the Icon that’s on board here.

SELLING ONE HALF INTEREST – POSSESSION AND/ OR THE OPTION TO DOUBLE UP AND OWN HER ALL IS NEGOTIABLE AFTER THE SALE. My good friends Steve Bonham and Craig Talkington found this one for me at one of my ISU Judging Team Members, Ben Kelly Sale as a bred heifer. I was watching/bidding on line and Steve was talking to me while selling her, I decided to whoa up for a bit and he gave both barrels in front of God and everybody. Thanks guys for the tip. This cow is phenomenal!!! She is likely the biggest barrel, broadest backed, softest flanked one of the bunch. She can flat out raise one too. Everything she has is top shelf. She hasn’t been flushed yet but is high on the list and very deserving.

This great young Mainetainer cow is absolutely dual purpose… She makes breeding cattle or show steers all day long. 6011 is extremely bold bodied and deep sided with as much flank as you can put in one. Here is a big topped cow with a perfectly level, square hip. Sounds like the perfect recipe for success when mated to Here I Am. She got a Hoss daughter in the replacement pen that is sure to make The Western Elite 2022 highlight reel.

This My Kind daughter is extreme through her front end and a flat shouldered, pretty headed female with worlds of balance and profile. She is beautiful uddered, heavy milking and always brings in a stout, fat, high quality calf. The Maternal Made female are extremely versatile when it comes to mating and charting a path or direction. She is bred to an outstanding Loaded Up son bred by John Sachau that is doing a great job at DCC. The beautiful heifer picture is sired by him and sells as Lot 50. She calves in late spring and should fit nicely in the “Hold over” world we are selling in this year or roll her to a fall program…Either way this is a quality cow.

OLD SCHOOL… AND WAY COOL! This is a TRUE POWER COW. She has got big, good feet and as much bone as you want to put in a female. 21 is the biggest topped, most muscular cow in the sale with tremendous rib shape and adequate depth of body. Her Hoss daughter selling as Lot 38 is a site to behold and a true testimonial to the power this cow can generate. Based on Icon’s first calf, I can’t even imagine how good the calf inside this one will be. The cow is on the bigger side but to me that’s a positive for most of the highly popular steer sires today.

THIS IS THE MOST COMMENTDED ABOUT FEMALE IN THE SALE! She is cool colored, big haired, monster boned, big topped and EXOTIC LOOKING! I don’t have much experience with creating breed steers that will classify in the South but I’d guess with a little experimenting and proper sire selection a guy could raise a lot of good stuff that would classify a lot of different ways. What I do know is that she is a good rip and can flat out raise one. She had a wild colored Hoss steer that went South High as a hold over and last year had twin heifer calves by BDR that are big time good. Sells Safe to Horn’s Hot New Red Stud Oso Rojo.

Her FULL SISTER, 3121 WAS LOT 1 IN THE 2018 WESTERN ELITE and is one of my all- time favorite Troubadour Daughters, she’s doing great things for a very valued WE customer and friend Howdy Tucker from TX and Duello Cattle. This is a mirror image of 3121 that I was able to find in the Went Dispersion last spring. Lot 20 and 21 are some of the last daughters of the great ½ Simmy Donor 1039 who was the Featured Lot 2 in the 2018 Western Elite. I have never mated 1039 or her daughters to anything but Maternal Genetics until now. This may well be the ideal kind of cow for Here I Am to knock one out of the park… Super sound, extra sappy and just enough muscle and stout. This should be dramatic!!!

This second full sister follows a little closer in kind to her sire, Solo. She is more extended in her kind and a bit cleaner and more up headed. All of these Solo’s make incredibly productive cows…the kind that quietly keep you in business. The first crop Icons have even exceeded my highest expectations so much that except the

cows I bred to Here I Am just for this sale over 90% of the black cows were bred to Icon this summer.

I am a firm believer, you can’t have to many baldies! This one was raised by Art Farley of C-Mor Beef Farms. When you extend her pedigree she goes back to the Famous JS Flatout Flirty Donor. This purebred is out of a direct daughter of Uprising and she carries out some of his best attributes. Long clean necked, square hip and extremely sound on the move. Its so hard to keep these purebreds this pretty without compromising their structure, but this one pulls it all together. Jaecke sold me on Dew

Grace, Grace, God’s Grace... If ever there was a year we needed Grace it has been 2020. This year has made us all step back and think about things. It’s only with grace, that we will persevere. This one is hard to let go of... but I have always told myself if we are going to town we are taking the best we have. Grace is elegant in her design, smooth and clean through her shoulder and neck.
