Fund Background The Suffolk Entrepreneur’s Fund has been created to support the United Suffolk Sheep Foundation’s goals: . Provide educational programs and materials for development of the Suffolk breed and United States sheep industry. . Provide development of youth through events including (but not limited to), public speaking, knowledge of the Suffolk and sheep breeds, judging, and other activities to develop youth to be better in dividuals and care takers of Suffolk sheep or other sheep in United States. . Support research related to the development of the Suffolk breed and the United States sheep industry. Eligibility Open to anyone with an idea for a way to promote, educate about or advance the Suffolk breed or the role of the Suffolk breed in the larger sheep industry.

Thank you for the opportunity to bring this first Foundation letter to all of you in this, our new Suffolk Directory. We are excited about the opportunities the United Suffolk Sheep Foundation brings to our members, friends, and others who were looking for a way to support youth, research, and education and have a tax deduction for that contribution. In setting up our Foundation, we were able to benchmark with some similar organizations in the livestock industry, notably the Angus and Hereford Foundations. Although we do not anticipate that we will get to the $15 million level of the Angus Foundation. or the $3 to 5 million in the Hereford Foundation, we have set some high goals for our first few years. I do believe that “if you can dream it, you can do it!” Your Suffolk Foundation is blessed to have talented individuals who all have a passion for the Suffolk breed and who make up the Foundation Board of Directors.

You will find that we have strengthened and expanded the scholarship program and the ewe lamb give away. We have also developed a grant program. We are continually investigating new opportunities to help the youth, to educate at any level, and support research. You can help these efforts. There are so many ways you can contribute to the advancement of the Suffolk breed through you donations to the Foundation and have a tax deduction for your contribution. Please give any Board member a call, if you have any questions. Thank you for your great support. Bill Royer President, United Suffolk Sheep Foundation
