My name is Kesler Collins, and I am from Flanagan, Illinois. I am a sophomore at Oklahoma State University. Winning the Neogen Ultimate Female show and the grand champion Cow-Calf pair titles at the 2025 Limousin Junior Nationals is something I’ll never forget. It’s not just about what happened in the show ring that day — it’s about everything that came before it. The hard work, the early mornings, the heartbreaks and victories, and most importantly, the people behind it all: my family. This is a true family operation. It’s just the five of us, day in and day out. No hired help, no shortcuts — just grit, sweat, and a lot of love for these cattle. Whether it’s checking cows before school, feeding after dark, or traveling
to shows on the weekend, we do it all together. Everyone plays a role, and no task is too big or too small. That’s what makes this win so meaningful — it belongs to all of us. The cow that brought home these titles is one I raised myself, and last year, she stood 3rd Overall Bred and Owned Heifer at the 2024 Limousin Junior Nationals. Watching her grow into a powerful, productive cow and now raise a standout calf has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey. To see her named Cow- Calf Champion and Neogen Ultimate Female this year feels like everything we’ve worked toward coming full circle.
I’ve been raising Limousin cattle for five years now, and what started as a passion has grown into a way of life for our whole family. This win isn’t just about the banners — it’s about the quiet moments behind the scenes. The tough calls. The long days. The sacrifices. The shared pride when it all pays off. I’m beyond grateful to the North American Limousin Junior Association, my fellow exhibitors, and every person who’s supported me on this journey. But more than anything, I’m thankful for my family — the ones who believed in me, pushed me, and stood beside me every step of the way. This banner will hang in the barn, but the memories we made getting here — those will stay with us forever. ●
