State Fair Season!
BRIAN J. REID OWNER / EDITOR
BRIAN WITH HIS DAD JIM AT THE 2018 ILLINOIS STATE FAIR. HE IS HOLDING A COPY OF OUR BIGGEST ISSUE EVER PRINTED!
The Showtimes August issue is finally here. The State Fair Edition is the one that we normally put a little extra into. Our designs have more detail, our ads are a little crazier and it's over double the size of any other issue of The Showtimes! We even have more fun with the cover! Sullivan Cattle Company is on the cover for the eighteenth time! It's been a long time since our first State Fair Edition. Back in 2007, it was only 60 pages and two of the three of us were still showing at State Fair! This issue is packed with Show Results from all of this Summer's Junior Nationals! You will also find Faces and Places from shows across the country including NAJRAE, Simmentals, Angus, Herefords, Limousin and Maine/ Chi! Plus, we have two very deserving Hall of Fame members! Find out who they are starting on page 366. This issue wouldn't be possible without all of our awesome advertisers from across the country! Thank you to everyone who advertised in The Showtimes! We would also like to thank all of the photographers for not only Show Results, but many of the Faces and Places as well. Finally, thank you to all of the
designers who sent in ads for this issue. Everyone's designs make this issue what it is. The August issue always takes more work, and this year is no different. It takes working long hours, most weekends and countless weeks in the office selling ads, laying out the magazine and creating designs. The Showtimes wouldn't be near what it is without the help of our mom Betty. She's the one most of you talk to on the phone or see at the shows. We can't wait to hit the road on our 2025 State Fair Tour! The State Fair's are some of my favorite shows to cover. There is nothing like a good State Fair. We will be distributing our
new issue as well as taking photos, filming videos and giving out cool stickers and giveaways! We look forward to seeing everyone at the State Fairs! Good luck! ●
