It was such a big win not just for us as a family but for everyone who has ever had a part in this heifer we call Buckles. We have only ever bought Angus from Sunrise Sunset Farms, and Buckles was no exception. We bought

our first SSF Angus back in 2016 and never looked back. We have been very fortunate to exhibit elite cattle at all levels with great success, but we really struck gold with Buckles. The Buckles magic is hard to describe. The story behind her name is a little unique, and I love to share it. You see, we

always joke that we prefer “pre-named” heifers from the Cates sale; over the years, we have had some interesting names from the one and only Piper Cates, including Twiggy, Pepper, Ziggy, and now Buckles, just to name a few. But Buckles happened to be Piper’s pick of the sale that year,
