or as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to be a Cowboy. My earliest memories consist of gathering cows riding on a horse called Roan with my grandpa Jim during the day and then coming inside at night to play farm on the spread my brother Cody and I created with every kind of wooden cow and Breyer horse ever made. Seems fitting now to be coaching the Cowboys at The University of Wyoming. I showed my first heifer at the National Western when I was seven and was awestruck. In the stadium arena under the bright lights representing our ranch and our cattle, I still don’t know if there is a cooler feeling in the world. Later that summer I trailed a dark red steer 11 miles down the Pryor Mountains in Montana during a fall gather at the ranch.
