McKENNA SOBASKY 2ND HIGH INDIVIDUAL OVERALL, 7TH REASONS, 6TH CATTLE, 4 TH PERFORMANCE CATTLE, 3RD SHEEP “I began livestock judging at a young age at NJSA events, but I started at Churubusco in the 5th grade. Winning NAILE this past month alongside my teammates and coaches that have been there with me since the start has been the most rewarding experiences in many different ways. It was truly the best feeling to see our hard work being recognized at the North American because it was always a dream to get to judge there, let alone become National Champions. Livestock Judging has been the most impactful activity for me as a person. It shows the competitive side of me and motivates me to put in the work to see the positive results, but also teaches character. It teaches how to be humble in victory and gracious in defeat. Livestock Judging is something I think everyone should get a chance to compete in!”

“I started judging in the 3rd grade and have now been with the Churubusco team for 7 years. My team has not only become some of my best friends, but they are family. Some of my best memories have been made in the long van rides and practices. Winning NAILE has always been the biggest goal for me, along with my teammates. It was awesome to be one of the few Indiana teams to have won this contest! Livestock judging has allowed me to travel all over the country and meet some of my best friends. It has also taught me many life lessons”
