Grand Champion Market Goat. “Two-holing” or “Double-bannering” at any show is something that is so special and very hard to put into words. It definitely makes all of the hours spent in the barn, all the sacrifices made by myself and my family, all of the “no I can'ts” because I have show animals to work worth while! My career has taught me many things. Giving up sports after my sophomore year was one of the hardest things I ever did, but it allowed me the extra hours that I needed to spend in the show barn with my animals and family. Life is all about choices. Some are easier to make than others, but I can honestly say that for the career that I wanted, I made the right choices and sacrifices. There are so many people that were a part of my 10- year show career that I owe more thank you’s to than I could ever give. My parents have taken every step with me over these ten years, and without them none of
group, like Logan Jackson and Jadie Hargrove helped and motivated me more than they will ever know. Friends and family that have cheered for me and sent congratulations over that last 10 years are all greatly appreciated, but the biggest thank you and one that I might can never repay goes to Chad Walker. He has taught me so much about myself, about livestock evaluation and presentation, about attention to detail, and that hard work always pays off. His attention to detail and eye for livestock is second to none in my opinion. He definitely has a gift! My future plans include attending a Junior College to judge on a competitive livestock judging team. I have visited several schools and will finish up my tours in February, and then I have to make another decision. I said earlier that life is about choices, and choosing where I want to judge collegiately is a decision that I haven’t and won’t take lightly. I am excited about judging collegiately and therefore am visiting and giving a lot of thought to where I will commit. From there, I look forward to judging at a Senior College also on a competitive livestock judging team. I would like to possibly work in the agricultural pharmaceutical sales field and continue to raise livestock with my family. I also have the goal of judging all the shows that I showed at across the country! ■
