y name is Hayden Schroeder, I am 18 years old, and I’m from Zephyr, Texas. I am a senior at Early High School and will graduate in May 2023. To get right into it, my entire life has revolved around both raising livestock and showing livestock. My family and I own and operate Blue Team Wethers in Zephyr, Texas, and my involvement in my family's business includes everything from: the daily chores, to sale preparations, showing and presenting livestock to customers, and everything in between. It is the same for livestock shows. I have shown my whole life, and started before I was 8, showing
pigs with my mom’s FFA students. I started my actual show career probably slower than most, but it was a choice my parents made. Their outlook was that I needed to learn to show, and do it well, before they loaded our show barn, and we really went for it. In each of the first few years I showed market hogs and goats. I showed at quite a few jackpot shows, my county show, and a major or two each year. It was my 5th grade year that I started showing with Chad Walker, and the next year I traded the market hogs for sheep. It was in 2016/2017 that it really all started coming together. That year I won my first division banner at
one Texas major and then my first Grand Champion banner at another. Over these 10 years I have had the opportunity to travel thousands of miles with my family and friends and show all over the country. I started showing on the national level in 2017, when I was in the 7th grade. We took one goat to Kansas City just to see if I would like it, and from there it is kind of history. In 2019 I had my first incredible run with the goats. I was Grand Champion at the National Western, Grand and Reserve Grand Champion at the American Royal, Grand Champion
