Adam Pryor started showing cattle at the age of 9. His family at the time had no experience in the show cattle world but had run commercial cows and feed lot cattle. With the help of Roger Roach Sullivan the experience in showing would increase. He would also help Roger with his sale calves in the fall getting started breaking and clipping them. The love for show cattle grew and although Adam didn’t have the highlighted show career himself, he helped his younger brothers Aaron and Andy hang a few banners, highlighted by Aaron’s Reserve Champion Steer at Aksarben in 2000. Adam attended Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE and there the show cattle connections started. Cory Thomsen was herdsman for Fred Derouchey at the time and they had all the Maine cattle at Jerome Settles farm before they found a ranch in South Dakota to purchase. This worked out well because they needed help and Adam was ready. Adam talks very highly of his time working with Cory and the Derouchey family. There were also numerous family suppers with Jerome, Joan and Jara Settles that came to mind. In his time at college a relationship would also start with Ryan Went as he helped work on the Went and Dean Sanders Sale cattle. After college Adam came home to start helping on the family farm. Throughout high school and college he had been slowly building a cow herd and it was time to start having a pasture sale. With the partners John and Joe Sullivan, Chuck Sandvold, Chester
