August 2024 State Fair Edition

My journey in the livestock industry began the moment I entered this world. At the ripe age of three, I pulled on my pink cowgirl boots, along with a pink bandanna around my neck matching my bucket calf of course and hit the ring. That experience ignited a passion in me for the beef industry that has only grown stronger with each year. I am, a senior at Kansas State University majoring in animal science and industries with a focus in agricultural communications. This summer at the 2024 Charolais Junior Nationals in Belton, Texas, a dream came true. I exhibited the Grand Champion Owned Charolais Female. Words can't describe the emotions that flooded me in that moment. Winning a junior national is a bucket list dream for many, and to achieve it felt surreal. But I know this accomplishment wasn't mine alone.

First and foremost, my deepest gratitude goes to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For installing in me a passion for the cattle industry and a kind heart to help feed the ever-growing world we live in. He has also surrounded me with incredible people who share the same love for the industry. To my family, there are no words to express how much your unwavering support means to me. You have all been my rock for the past 21 years, cheering me on through every dream and idea I've ever had, since the very beginning. I love you all and can not say thank you enough. Rosebud Cattle Company, seven years ago, you entrusted me with a heifer, and I'm forever grateful for your faith in me.
