Timonium Maryland, but it was all worth it by the end. I made so many good friends and memories that I will remember forever. Laying in bed the night before I was thinking about what I was gonna do to be my best in the showring. The nerves really hit me when we were walking to the ring. Once I got in the ring the nerves faded a little bit. The Grand Drive felt like it was taking forever. My arm was so tired, my shoulder hurt, and sweat was dripping in my eyes it was so hot, but I knew that I wanted this bad enough that I was willing to stand the pain. The excitement I felt seeing the judge walk over to shake my hand is unexplainable. If you would have asked me in past years if I thought I would be getting selected Grand Champion Shorthorn Plus female at Junior Nationals, I would have told you it was a dream but not something I would have the chance to experience in my show career. While I was waiting to take my backdrop picture I was still trying to comprehend what had just happened. I still get chills and tears when I think about getting the handshake from the judge. Cinco and I have many shows left together but this one will forever be one of the most memorable as well as one of the most amazing shows we will experience together. I would like to thank a few people starting with Kate
and Ian McKenzie. They have always supported and wanted the best for me. Kate was patient with me while trying to teach me how to work hair when we were getting started. I also want to thank Tim and Emily Schaeffer for guiding me, believing in me and always pushing me to be my best in and out of the showring. I have learned so much from you guys. Q-Ball, Olivia and the crew at Schaeffer Show Cattle are second to none. Most of all I want to say thank you to my parents and my two sisters. I know all of the sacrifices my parents make so I can go to shows like Junior Nationals. Junior Nationals wouldn’t have been something I could go to without my sister, Stormi, who was willing to stay and take care of the animals and chores at home. My little sister Cora has always been so happy for me when I do well and helps cheer me up when I don’t do the greatest. I appreciate all the people who have put in time and effort to see me succeed. I couldn’t be more happy with the set of people who have helped me get to where I am today. ●
