‘Alice’ who was named the Champion Chianina heifer in Des Moines. ‘Phyllis’ went on to be named the 5th Overall Breeding Heifer at the Iowa State Fair, as well. Unbelievable to many, but especially to the Tlach family, they met and exceeded expectations. The entire year of 2020 proved to be challenging for everyone, but the cattle shows were able to continue. Jenna showed ‘Ivy’, a Maintainer, and Abby showed ‘Helen’, a High Maine. Both found their way to the backdrop across the country and ‘Helen’ ended up being named 2020 Maine Anjou Show Heifer of the Year by the AMAA. As the next couple of years passed, both girls found great success along the way. The summer of 2023 was filled with both black and white cows. The Tlachs started off the summer in Grand Island at the Maine Anjou and Chianina Junior Nationals bringing back the memories of the very first junior national heifer show that they attended on the same grounds. Abby showed a Maine Angus, ‘Maggie’, and was named the Champion Bred and Owned Maine Angus as well as the 3rd Overall Owned Maine Angus. ‘Maggie’ went on to be named the 5th Overall Breeding Heifer at the Iowa State Fair and the inaugural Champion Bred and Owned 4-H Breeding Heifer. Charolais Junior Nationals was in Minnesota and Jenna served on the Junior Board of Directors. She rounded out her show season showing ‘Claire’ and was named the Champion Charolais heifer. The 2024 Maine Junior Nationals held in Springfield, MO is still close at hand and was a great outing for the Tlachs. Abby’s Maine Angus, ‘MJ’, was named Champion Bred and Owned Maine Angus and was 4th Overall in the Owned Maine Angus show. Abby has shown the Champion Bred and Owned Maine Angus at Junior Nationals in both 2023 and
