the work you poured into me and how much you’ve taught me about this breed. You’ve been with me from my very first shows and you were there with me for my very last, I love you guys so much. To Gary Dameron and family, Cody Bock and one amazing crew, I’m so thankful for how much you believed in me. You all care so much about the cattle industry as well as the junior members within. I am so thankful to end one amazing career alongside such an encouraging and knowledgeable group of people. To my best friend, my number one and one outstanding Grandpa, thank you for supporting me the way you do. You and Grandma have so much love for your grandkids dreams and every breed of cattle imaginable, I know Grandma is proudly smiling down on us. To my always devoted Grandpa Smitty, you left me with so much history, knowledge and love for the cattle industry. I am thankful for all the support you and Grandma Teresa
gave me throughout your life, I love and miss you always. To my mom and dad, Brad and Buckley Cox, not many kids can say their parents drove them to every Junior National they could to help them chase their dreams. You’ve taught us everything and gave us all you could to be the people we are today. You are the two most selfless, hard working and amazing parents. I love you both more than you’ll ever know, I really hit the jackpot with you both. To my sister and brother, Ashley and Seth. Ashley, I always wanted to be half the person you are, you’re so perfect in so many ways and I’m so lucky to have grown watching my idol of a sister. You’ve been the best role model for me throughout my life. To Seth, you’re unreal kid. By the time you were 14 I watched you work from sun up to far past sun down bailing hay, welding feeders, fixing equipment and working with your cattle. You work so hard and I am so so proud to be able to call myself your sister. To
Zane Barragree, you’re basically my older brother, you’ve helped my family through it all and have been the best person to have at a show. We couldn’t do any of this without you. And finally thank you to my sweet heifer Lucy, you’ll never be forgotten. We did it! I would like to address the younger kids reading this, I remember flipping through this magazine wanting to be in someone else’s shoes. You are right where you need to be, work hard, make lifelong friendships and never stop telling those people that are there for you thank you. This industry will always be my favorite part of myself and I hope you all can experience that too! Never give up on your dreams because you never know how close you’re to achieving them. •
