We have several different shows that we prepare for during the year, but Junior Nationals is always one of the kid’s favorites. Everyone loves the showing part of Junior Nationals but both Kennedy and Kelton love the contests, and games and extra leadership activities that are held that we don’t normally have at a show. Kelton was lucky to be on two teams with his good friends and they won the quiz bowl contest and the fitting contest for their age division this year. Kennedy participated in every contest they offered at Shorthorn Junior Nationals, and she had some great placings winning salesmanship, 2nd in Speech, 2nd in Showmanship, 3rd in the Cattlemen’s Quiz and was 3rd Overall Prospector I. OK and both of our kids enjoy showing. This summer has been a unique and special summer for us. This summer was Kennedy’s first time to show at a Junior Nationals even though she has attended several to watch Kelton show in past years. This summer was also the first time that we had two Junior Nationals at the same time. Jerrod and Kelton headed to Chi/Maine Junior Nationals in Chickasha, OK and Blayne and Kennedy headed to Louisville, KY for Shorthorn Junior Nationals.
