“THE ONLY REAL LIMITATION ON YOUR ABILITIES IS THE LEVEL OF YOUR DESIRES. IF YOU WANT IT BADLY ENOUGH, THERE ARE NO LIMITS ON WHAT YOU CAN ACHIEVE.” -BRIAN TRACY

y name is Lexi Hunt and

where I was coached by Connor Brew alongside fellow talented teammates that I now consider lifelong friends. When it came time to make the decision on where to continue my judging career on the senior college level, the coaching staff and culture of Texas Tech University made the decision relatively easy for myself. Although livestock judging is an individual activity, the most rewarding aspect is that it is truly a team event. The group of people that I get to travel around the country with and share success with are some of the most talented individuals I have had the opportunity to be around. Iron sharpens iron and the guidance provided by our coach, Skyler Scotten, and assistant coach, Kase Lerow, has created a team dynamic not only focused on performing at the highest level but keeping the bigger picture in mind of why we involve ourselves in this industry and sport. That is why my individual accolades at Denver became even sweeter when Texas Tech was named the High Team Overall by

a 98 point margin. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science at Tech and plan to apply my degree to a career in the small ruminant reproduction field. My passion has always been to assist in the betterment of the livestock industry for the next generation of youth. I always encourage youth to involve themselves in livestock judging because it truly can open doors to opportunities within the industry that they may have never dreamed possible. It is far more than placing four animals and giving reasons, it is about the people you meet along the way, the memories made in the van and the skillset gained that sets the stage for success in future endeavors. I know that none of this would have been possible without the support of my family, coaches, and teammates and I am forever grateful for those who have believed in me and assisted me in the pursuit of my dreams. ●

I was blessed to be the Senior College High Individual at the 2025 National Western. I am the daughter of John and Crystal Hunt and originally from Buckeye, Arizona where I grew up primarily showing sheep. I have had a strong passion for the livestock industry from an early age which led to my involvement in 4-H and FFA where I was a member of competitive judging teams through both organizations. I was blessed to be coached by dad throughout my youth career and his support and guidance laid the groundwork for my success and drove my passion for livestock judging. I always planned on judging at the collegiate level, not only to further my judging career but also to build connections and friendships with others that shared similar interests and goals as myself. By a matter of fate, I landed at South Plains College in Levelland, TX for Junior College
