A Dream Come True on the Green Shavings 108
Raising both the Junior and Open Supreme Heifer at the 2025 North American International Livestock Exposition is something we will never forget—a true bucket-list moment checked off. Louisville has always been good to us. Over the years, we’ve had many heifers, across multiple breeds, make it back for the Junior Supreme Heifer Show. Anyone who’s experienced it knows there’s nothing quite like walking down the ramp into Freedom Hall for the Supreme Drive. It’s special—every single time. But this year felt different. We took UDE Saras Dream 4010, better known as “MJ,” to Louisville, and truthfully, we weren’t sure if we were even going to show her. After winning the National Junior Angus Show this summer, we were honestly scared to get her beat. Then Saturday afternoon, Bret called from back home and simply said, “You can’t win if you don’t show.” He was right.
Company began with a simple goal: buying a few show heifers for Mitchell and Maddy during their junior show careers. Many of those heifers found great success in the show ring, but even more importantly, they went on to excel in the donor pen. In 2025, we hosted the 9th year of The Advantage Production Sale. We take immense pride in knowing that every heifer sold is raised right here on the farm, with most tracing back to our original cow families. After graduating from Iowa State University, Mitchell returned home and helped grow the cow herd to more than 900 cows. Our herdsman, Greg Van Zee, has been with us since the very beginning. He has managed the show barn since 2008, and in our opinion, there’s simply no one better in the business. UDE Saras Dream 4010 We knew MJ was special from the start. When pairs were turned out to grass in the spring of 2024, she was the kind you could spot from a mile away. By fall, she had quickly become a crowd favorite—not just for her look, but for her presence, demeanor, and the confidence with which
