May/June 2022 Junior National Edition

Hoge and then our Blackout 8 Interns. If you have never had the opportunity to visit with Dan, I strongly encourage you to jump at any opportunity to do so. What an honor it was for us to bring him out to Colorado to work with the exhibitors at our show! He will go down in history as a true Ambassador for the Livestock Industry. On the flip side of the coin were our Blackout 8 Interns. While just starting to make their impact, they were so talented and refreshing. Allie Bieber, Ally Majzel, Annalyse Leach, Jacob Fjeld, Jentri Reamy, Kaley Pieper, Olivia Lulich, Samantha Wileman, Tori Culp and Tori Fowler are amazing new additions to my contact list. I’ve hit on Industry Greats that make up the foundation and the future, but what about the heart? Our May 2022 Hall of Fame Inductees, Bobby and Mandi Maddox, check that box! They are a one-of-a-kind duo that are so good at what they do. Find out more about them on page 62. Good luck to everyone at this Summer’s Junior Nationals! Don’t be ordinary. • See on the road this Summer! Lisa M. Reid The Showtimes

“Ordinary is contagious. If you hang out with ordinary people, doing ordinary things, guess what you’re going to be? You will be ordinary as hell.” – Mark Hoge, Blackout 8 Grand Drive Speech Over the past 15+ years with The Showtimes, I have been fortunate to get to know so many crazy talented and inspiring individuals. People that have changed the industry and influenced me just the same. With this being the Junior National Edition, we have put together a very special magazine featuring some of the Industry Greats to influence today’s Juniors and tomorrow’s leaders. The front cover features none other than Sullivan Supply. I was able to visit with John Sullivan, owner of Sullivan Supply and Sullivan Farms, about their companies and the importance of raising your kids in Agriculture. Check out The Showtimes exclusive article, The Sullivan Legacy, on page 252. This May/June issue is your source for full Blackout Jackpot 8 coverage! We had an amazing weekend this past March in Loveland, Colorado hosting cattle, livestock judgers, interns, and judges for the most Electrifying Show of the Year! My two highlights of the weekend would be getting to spend time with Dan
