My name is Olivia Caldwell and I am currently a junior in high school from Elmwood, IL. My steer Stew was just selected as the Grand Champion Steer at the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, Kentucky.
Though I feel beyond fortunate to have been given this opportunity, I am particularly humbled by the
fact that this was my second big win in Louisville. I could spend time talking about the moments that it took to get to that point, but honestly, I would prefer to focus on those that managed to get me where I am today. Those people that stood
in the background. The ones who cheered from afar. The people who
never got near the recognition that they deserved. My family. My friends. To each and every person who worked their tails off to make this win happen — thank you. As the years and show opportunities pass by I would like to take this opportunity to remind exhibitors to be ultra thankful for what they have. The opportunities are endless. Work hard and hold tight to those that you love. •
