What you do today will influence you tomorrow. This has been on my mind since my sister Laurie, and I were asked to speak to the Junior Boards at this year’s Youth Beef Industry Council (YBIC) in April. As past board members ourselves, it was interesting to look back and realize how people we networked with as a part of Junior Breed Associations have been instrumental in our lives and our company over the years. The influence of Junior Nationals and Junior Breed Associations is not unique to just us. This fact directly correlates to the importance of this Junior National Edition. Every year we incorporate an in-depth Junior National Preview that includes everything from show schedules and logos to Junior Board members and interesting facts about the breeds. You can find this year’s preview starting on page 152. For the first time ever, we have given side-by-side information for all the breeds! One of my favorite aspects of each issue of The Showtimes is the inductee of our newest Hall of Fame members. This month’s inductees gained their love for beef cattle through the Limousin and Maine-Anjou Junior Programs. They have used their talents and competitive natures to change the industry. Read their exclusive article starting on page 72.

Use the magazine as a tool to make the best decisions for your life. Consequences are a part of everyday life. What you decide to do today will influence if those consequences are good or bad tomorrow. If you work hard, make smart decisions, and surround yourself with people who make you better, you will look back ten years from now and smile.
