My name is Redmin Brumbaugh, and I’m a 10th year 4-H member from LaOtto, Indiana. In 2025, my family and I won Grand Champion steer at the Indiana State Fair—and to be honest, it still doesn’t feel real. Winning this show has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. What made this moment even more memorable is that it marked the fifth time my family has won the steer show at the state fair. That history, that legacy is something I’ve always looked up to, and now I get to be part of it. Growing up, I watched my older brothers Ross and RJ in the ring, and they were the ones who really inspired me. They set the standard high, and I always wanted to follow in their footsteps. Whether it was working in the barn late at night, loading up early in the morning for jackpots, or just riding in the truck talking about goals, they taught me what it takes to succeed—and reminded me never to settle.

knowing what it meant—but I knew I wanted to feel that same excitement one day. As I got older, I started chasing that goal myself. Being named 5th Overall Heifer a few years back was a turning point for me. It gave me a taste of what was possible and pushed me to keep working harder. This win in 2025 with my steer named Ry was more than just a banner. It was the result of years of work, sacrifice, and commitment—not just from me, but from my whole family. Every one of us plays a role, and that’s what makes it so special. Walking that steer into the ring, hearing the judge’s words, and realizing we’d done it again—it’s a moment I’ll never forget. But what means even more to me is knowing I got to share that moment with the people who got me here. My brothers, my parents, and everyone who’s believed in me along the way—this win belongs to all of us. ●
Some of my earliest memories are of my family winning the Indiana State Fair steer show. I remember being a little kid, standing at the backdrop, not really
