3RD OVERALL HEIFER Kate Liggett

4TH OVERALL HEIFER Rees Toler

My name is Brextyn Grabiel. I was born and raised in Marion, Ohio. I am 12 years old and will be in the seventh grade at River Valley Middle School. In my free time I enjoy playing baseball, working with my cattle on my Mamaw and Papaw's farm, hunting and fishing. I started showing heifers when I was 8 years old. Winning the Ohio State Fair was a bucket list dream, not only for myself, but for my mom and my uncle because they showed heifers too. The antici- pation before the show was almost overwhelming. I kept asking everyone involved if they thought had a chance to win. The night before the junior show l could not sleep waking up at midnight asking my mom if she thought that I would do good. My brother reminded me that he got third place in his class and I that I had won my breed in the open show to go back to sleep. The day of the supreme heifer show I was so nervous, hoping to win my bred and then not being able to sit still until the moment I went back in for the final drive. During the championship drive all I could think was, "Don't screw this up," and all my heifer Grizz Ray could think was, "Man, I want to run!" When the judges started making their final walk, I thought they were going to pick everyone but me until the moment they started walking my direction and then I knew we did it. My heifer Grizz Ray and I have had a good run so far winning the Ohio State Fair and placing fifth overall at the Maine Anjou Classic. I cannot wait to see what team Grizz has left to accomplish. ●
