My name is Bailee Amstutz. I’m from Richwood, OH. I am 18 years old and currently attend Butler Community college where I’m a part of the livestock judging team. I have been showing sheep since I could walk. I think I was like 3 when I sold my first sheep on the sale block in Duncan, OK. From there became a love and passion for the sheep industry. I can remember my first set of show sheep. I had a Southdown sheep named Teddy and a BFX named popsicle that I showed at NAILE when I was 6. Since the first time I showed at NAILE, I knew winning NAILE was going to be my biggest goal. I’ll be honest, there was some major bumps along the way, that set me

back at times. I have learned that failure is going to happen, and I have to accept that. It’s how you deal with that failure, and preserver in tough times. To find success there needs to be a lot of hard work and dedication, but there’s a lot of luck too. Honestly, there were times where I thought “what else do I have to do to achieve that one goal?” But I had to remember God had a plan. With a little bit of luck of talking dad into cutting the sheep I wanted this Spring, and waiting for his day, I finally achieved my biggest dream. My best piece of advice for younger showman is “Dream big, and sky’s the limit on what you can do!” ●
