WALK BY FAITH NOT BY SIGHT is a Bible verse that can mean so many things to so many people. For Teagan Joseph, it has taken on a more literal sense each day that passes. Teagan was born with a rare genetic condition called Lebers Congenital Amaurosis. This condition only affects 3000 people in the United States annually. It is a condition that effects the retina. Most people that are born with this condition are completely blind by the age of 1. “It’s funny, you have about a 25% chance of getting this disease if both parents are a carrier and I just happen to be the lucky 25%. Ironically, that’s the only raffle I’ve ever won.” Teagan’s case is a mild

form in that she still has some of her vision. “My world is a mesh of shapes, shadows and shades. I don’t see a lot of details but I can usually take all the pieces and put together a picture,” is how Teagan describes what she can see. This doesn’t seem to slow this girl down. She
has been riding horses since she was 6 months old. “When I was old enough to sit up on my own, my grandma made sure I was on a saddle with her riding.” Teagan has shown her horse Kit in multiple
