n the showring, we’ve all witnessed an animal getting spooked because of a small child running up the aluminum bleachers or making a disruption in

situations that are out of our control but getting upset and blaming others isn’t going to make the situation better. Paul writes in Romans 2:5-11 “5 But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. 6 God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” 7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8 But for those who are self-seeking and

who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. 9 There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 10 but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 11 For God does not show favoritism.” We are not promised an easy life. In fact, God uses our problems to allow us to show our faith in Him and give us an opportunity to show others love and grace. When having difficulties, it’s easy to play the blame game, give up, and be mad

at the other person. When this happens, everyone loses. If we keep a positive attitude and rise above it, you show others that a situation can’t devastate you if you put your faith in God. It takes a lot of work to get to the ring, so it’s a natural reaction to be upset when things don’t go as planned, but everything that happens is something to learn from and grow. Always remember that in and out of the showring, blaming someone else won’t help anything. God doesn’t care whose fault it is. He only cares how we treat other people. •

the stands. It is part of showing.

Maybe there is a young showman in the ring that can’t manage their steer and it keeps bumping into someone else. It can be hard to keep our cool in

RISING ABOVE AND PUTTING YOUR FAITH IN GOD.
