Hello, I am Ryleigh Egbert. I am 17 years old from Botkins, Ohio. Growing up, cattle have been a big part of my life. I have been showing cattle since I was 7 years old and fell in love with the industry from that point on. It has always been such a huge part of me and made me who I am today from the opportunities that have been given to me. This past August I was blessed to achieve something I always dreamed of being able to do since starting my show career and that would be winning the Ohio State Fair. Even after a month has passed, I still can not describe the feeling this accomplishment has not only given me, but to my family and the people involved. From the beginning of this past show season, Cruiser was always something special to me and my family. From there on, this calf has done nothing but improve from day in and day out. The two of us had an amazing bond that made our winter show season successful inside and outside of the ring. As the summer started I knew I had to put in a lot of work. From obnoxious loud music, hair workings, early morning rinsings, to every showmanship lesson my sister and I did together, each one of those moments only built up to succeeding at the show if it is , “Won at home, not in the showering” according to my dad. Not only did I have my family and friends to motivate me, but I also had my grandpa that passed away earlier this year. He always knew how much this calf meant to me. He was always there to support us whether it was watching on Walton Webcasting or telling us how proud he was of me when I was
