OPEN TO THE WORLD No Exhibitor Age Restrictions It doesn't matter if you are 5, 22 or 55, you can show at Blackout! You can show your brother's, sister's or friend's calf in one ring and they can show it in the others! Rules

FORCE MAJEURE The Showtimes, Inc. / Blackout Jackpot shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its operations activities, shows, and events to the extent such delay or failure results from a force majeure occurrence. A force majeure occurrence is defined as any occurrence arising from causes beyond the reasonable control of The Showtimes, Inc. / Blackout Jackpot and which delays or prevents performance by The Showtimes, Inc. / Blackout Jackpot otherwise required by this Agreement, including but not limited to any breakage or accident to equipment, machinery or facilities; any strikes, lock-outs or other labor difficulties; statutes, ordinances, regulations, orders, or rules issued by governmental authorities; judicial decrees or orders; acts of God; animal diseases and/or quarantines; wars, riots or insurrections; civil disobediences, public demonstrations or sabotage; fires, floods, explosions or inclement weather; inability to obtain necessary labor, materials, supplies, utilities or transportation; depressions, recessions or other
economic downturns; embargoes or energy shortages; or other causes beyond The Showtimes, Inc. / Blackout Jackpot’s reasonable control. GOVERNMENT REGULATION The Showtimes, Inc. / Blackout Jackpot shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its operations, activities, shows, and events to the extent such delay or failure results from The Showtimes, Inc. / Blackout Jackpot’s good faith compliance with applicable governmental statutes, ordinances, regulations, orders, rules or other directives, including but not limited to compliance with governmental directives concerning public health and safety, animal disease prevention, detections and response, including animal quarantine and/or destruction; and protection of the environment. PROTESTS The Showtimes Inc. / Blackout Jackpot will not allow any protests. DECISION OF THE JUDGE IS FINAL The decision of the Judges shall be final in all cases.
NO OUTSIDE BEDDING Bedding will available to purchase from The Showtimes at the show. STALLING OUT OF YOUR TRAILER The first 40 Trailers to apply may stall out of their trailer for a $50 Trailer Stalling Pass. You must park in a designated area. NIGHT PENS There are 6 Night Pens that are available to use. They are $250 and are available to purchase first come, first served. 3 STRIKE RULE If the exhibitor loses control of the animal in the show ring more than twice, the animal may be excused from the ring. NO DOGS No dogs are allowed on the fairgrounds other than those on a leash for direct competition or service animals. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS All cattle must have all appropriate health papers within 30 days of the Blackout Jackpot 9. ENTRY FEE COVERS ALL 3 SHOWS When you enter Blackout 9 your entry fee includes all 3 shows (Friday Night Lights Out / Power Ring / Light Ring). You must pay
claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, or liability costs, suits, or actions of every name, kind, and description, brought forth from or on account of, injuries or death of any person including but not limited to workers, and the public, or damage to property resulting from the performance of the exhibitor or exhibitor’s entries. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS The Showtimes, Inc / Blackout Jackpot officials reserve the right to cancel events, change scheduling, combine classes, split classes, cancel classes, and adjust premiums if deemed necessary. CLASS + DIVISION BREAKS The Showtimes, Inc / Blackout Jackpot officials have the sole discretion on all class and division breaks. All class and division breaks are final and cannot be disputed. GENERAL WAIVER If any damage, loss or injury to person or property shall be caused by reason of any neglect or willful at of any person, firm, or corporation or their agents, representatives, servants, or employees having license or privilege to exhibit, or occupy any space on The Ranch grounds and/or The Showtimes, Inc. (The Blackout Jackpot) shall in no manner be responsible therefore, and in case it be subjected to any expense or liability, all persons causing same, or liable therefore, shall indemnify The Showtimes, Inc. (The Blackout Jackpot). All exhibitors and spectators may have their photos used in publications, social media, advertisements and/or televised/livestream video.
JUDGE INTERFERENCE Prohibition of interference with competitions direct criticism or interference with the judge, The Showtimes, Inc. / Blackout Jackpot, the Reid Family or Authority Staff, other exhibitors, association representatives, or show officials before, during, or after the competitive event is prohibited. In the furtherance of their official duty, all judges, Authority staff or agents, and other show officials shall be treated with courtesy, cooperation, and respect, and no person shall direct abusive or threatening If any exhibitor, in any way, whether in person or by agent or representative, interferes with any judge during that judge’s adjudication or behaves disrespectfully toward any judge or any Authority staff, then the Program Manager, Director, or General Manager may immediately remove said exhibitor from the judging area, may disqualify the exhibitor from further competition, may remove the exhibitor from The Ranch, may withhold any prizes that may have been awarded in any other conduct toward them. GENERAL COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS responsible for any consequential or other loss, injury, or damage done to, occasioned by, or arising from, any animal or article exhibited by him or her. HOW THE SHOW RINGS WILL WORK When you enter Blackout 9 your entry fee covers all three shows. The first show will be on Friday and is called FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS OUT . The second and third shows will be on Saturday for Heifers and on Sunday for Steers. The second show is the POWER RING and the third show is the LIGHT RING . FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS OUT On Friday Steers/Market Heifers will show in the left ring while Heifers show in the right ring at the same time. Everything will be shown by weight during the Friday Night Lights Out Show with a Grand and Reserve selected. POWER RING + LIGHT RING
There will be a two ring Heifer Show on Saturday followed by Showmanship. A two ring Steer Show and Market Heifer Show will be held on Sunday. Market Heifers will be shown by weight with the Grand, Reserve and 3rd Overall Selected. Steers will be shown by Breed, then Weight with the Top 5 Overall Selected. Heifers will be shown by Breed, then Age with the Top 5 Overall Selected.

POWER RING SHOWS + LIGHT RING SHOWS On Saturday the Heifers will show first in the Power Ring followed by the Light Ring. On Sunday the Steers and Market Heifers will show first in the Power Ring followed by the Light Ring.
AFTER YOU EXIT THE LIGHT RING YOU MAY TAKE A PHOTO AT THE BACKDROP OR HEAD BACK TO THE BARNS. TOP 5 STEERS AND HEIFERS AND TOP 3 MARKET HEIFERS MUST TAKE AN OFFICIAL PHOTO BY THE SHOWTIMES.

Internship Application Deadline: December 15, 2024 Internship includes working with The Showtimes Magazine staff and Blackout 9 staff February 26 - March 3, 2025! The internship will begin Wednesday, February 26 at noon and conclude Sunday, March 2nd following the steer show champion drive (evening) and tear down. Interns must provide their own travel to and from the show. This is a non-paid internship. There is no promise of employment. This internship is for educational purposes. By signing below, you agree to our confidentiality policy and accept the Liability Release. If you are applying to receive college internship credit, we would be glad to sign any paperwork for your school.

Sign up for our 2025 Blackout Scholarships! Money raised from our Stall Bid-Off will go towards Scholarships that will be awarded to Blackout Jackpot 9 Exhibitors at the show! You don't have to fill out a form or get a letter of recommendation... all you have to do is show and sign up for a 10 minute interview! Winners will be announced prior to the Champion Drive in the Light ring!
