GET READY FOR THE FALL SHOWS!

How do you define success? So many of us spend endless hours, or even lifetimes, chasing after our dreams. Those dreams could be exhibiting champion livestock, owning thousands of acres, selling the top genetics, owning your own business, winning the Super Bowl or being the President of the United States. Once you accomplish your goals, however, is it doing so that makes you successful? The world tells you, yes. I have recently come to realize, however, that while you should always strive to be your best and compete to win, it is what you do to reach your goals that defines how successful you truly are. Spending quality time with your family and friends, being there for people when they need you, how you make others feel, never cutting corners and being able to look back at your life with no regrets on how you got to where you are is so much more important than any banner, trophy, or high honor. Colossians 1:10 says, “so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work…” This issue of The Showtimes is packed cover-to-cover with great livestock and products, but more importantly great people. Not only do we appreciate your business, but we also appreciate the kindness that this industry has shown us. It does not go unnoticed.

One of our favorite

things to do is highlight people who have greatly impacted this industry through our Showtimes Hall of Fame. In this issue, our newest inductees

are Nate Tice and Tim Schaeffer. Learn more about them in each of their special features. From Goretska on the cover to Griswold on the back, and every advertiser in between, use this issue of the Showtimes as a tool to help you accomplish your goals. Strive to be one of the exhibitors highlighted in our show results. Strive to be the breeder of the next sire or dam that changes the industry. Strive to be the best at whatever it is you do. But do not lose sight of what really matters in life and what it means to be truly successful. Lisa Reid
