Sept/Oct 2024 Fall Edition

that time, the Bauerly family was transitioning from horse breeding to cattle, and Grace and Jerry formed a partnership focused on raising cattle that could excel both in the show ring and on pasture. Dylan, Leighton, and Nolan brought their own skills to the team, and together, they began to show the heifers they were breeding and raising. Their dedication, teamwork, and shared vision culminated in an unforgettable moment at the 2024 Minnesota State Fair, where they reached new heights for the Hackett family and Brookwood Farms. At the 4-H Show, they exhibited Steck Lucy MM 322L ET, a heifer raised by Keagan Steck and purchased from Steck Cattle the previous fall. She went on to win Supreme Female, a remarkable achievement for the team. Craig and Stephanie Steck provided invaluable guidance and unwavering support throughout the process, helping make this success possible. In the Open Class, they exhibited BWF Miss Jubilee L25, a female sired by Relentless and out of Brookwood’s B C Lookout 7024 x HS Stop and Stare U118L donor cow. She went on to win Supreme Female, a victory that was truly a dream come true. Raising a female capable of excelling at that level had always been their aspiration, and this achievement represented the fulfillment of that goal.

The final show of the week was the FFA Show, where they exhibited SSUL 3259L, a daughter of Silveiras Forbes 8088 x Ratliff Howboutit 008H ET. Claiming Supreme Female for the third time that weekend was an incredible accomplishment. The Peine crew played a crucial role in this success, providing essential support and helping to finalize every detail. This achievement meant everything to the Hackett family and their team, representing years of hard work, dedication, and an unwavering belief that they would one day reach this milestone. While there were many people to thank, Jerry and Elaine Bauerly stood out as some of their biggest supporters. They embraced the vision and believed in the team’s ability to achieve the goals they set for their cattle operation. None of this would have been possible without the incredible support from family, friends, and everyone who stood by them from the very beginning. ●
