how grateful I am. There is no possible way we would have had the success we had this summer without them. There were so many people that have helped me and these heifers be ready to walk on the dirt in the Coliseum, and I am so grateful for every one of them. Many know that I have had some limitations when it comes to my physical health over this year. In April of this year at volleyball practice, I sadly tore my ACL. I had reconstruction surgery in May, and if you saw me showing at any shows this summer, then you probably saw me with a huge brace on. It has been a struggle to work around this setback physically, but it was also hard to work

around the mental setbacks. I struggled because I was not able to participate in my other passion, playing volleyball. If I couldn’t have showed my heifers and pigs this summer, it would have been much harder to get through this injury. A month after my surgery, I showed at the Exposition. Then I continued to go on and show at the Junior Summer Spectacular, two Junior Nationals, and the Indiana State Fair. I was not going to allow my injury to stop me from being able to show animals that I have worked so hard with. I will always be forever in debt to the people who have helped me be where I am today. They will never know how grateful I am for each one of them. The feeling of

accomplishing a goal that you have worked so hard for is indescribable. I can’t wait to continue to show these heifers this fall, and to see what their future holds. I have learned four things that have been my drive to work harder over this past year. To all the kids who have a dream, if you have the passion, work ethic, support team, and trust in God, you can make many things happen. I have said this many times before, but God is the most important thing in our lives. Trust in Him. God has a plan for every single one of us. Whatever your obstacle is whether it is a torn ACL or something else, trust that God has a plan for you, and He loves you. ●
