Sept/Oct 2024 Fall Edition

were ready to roll. On the morning of the show, I was immediately struck with nerves. People that know me understand that I overthink and get nervous about everything, so on this morning I thought I was going to puke. I knew that all this work would either pay off, or it wasn’t part of God’s plan for me. On Saturday, I walked in the ring with my Lim-flex, KJ. She was awarded Champion Limousin. I was so incredibly excited because this was the same heifer that won Champion Lim- Flex at Junior Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The next day, I won Reserve Champion Angus with Gigi and Champion Sim- solution with Dua. Next was the most nerve-racking part, the Grand Drive. I was beyond excited to step on the dirt once again at the Indiana State Fair. When I was selected Supreme Champion Heifer with my Sim-solution, I was in complete disbelief, sobbing, my Limousin was selected Reserve Supreme Champion. At this point I think I was hysterical; I could barely even breath I was crying so hard. It kept getting even better as the judge walks over to me and tells me my Angus will be Fourth Overall Heifer. After that, I think I almost passed out. All I could hear were my family, friends, and crew screaming, crying, and jumping up and down outside of the ring. This moment will forever be a core memory that will I had done it. Then, as I am in the corner

remain in all our minds as a family forever. I wouldn’t have been able to get three heifers in the top five at the Indiana State Fair if it wasn’t for the many people who have helped me get these heifers where they are today. First, I want to thank my family. My family has supported me in all my dreams and passions throughout my entire life. They have helped me in the barn, but not only that they have helped me become a better person. My mom, Telynda, is one of my best friends, and there is no way I could make it throughout life without her. My dad, Daniel, has put in so many hours at work and in the barn to provide me with the opportunity to show in the industry that I love. I am sure you all know my brother, Hogan, and if you haven’t, you are missing out on one of the kindest and purest souls I know, who is my biggest supporter. I am forever grateful to my second family, the Schaeffers. Tim, Emily, Braylen, and Colyer are the best supporters, friends, and show family that I could ask for. Thank you, Ian Mckenzie, Quinton Ball and the entire Schaeffer crew for all the hard work supporting me year in and year out, you are the best in the business. Nate Tice has helped me get my heifers to where they needed to be for this show, and I will be forever grateful. Finally, to my big sisters, Gabby Line and Khyleigh North. I will never have enough words in the world to show them
