My name is Saylor Norvell. I am currently 12 years old and a 6th grader at Amber- Pocasset Public Schools in Amber, Oklahoma. Outside of showing livestock, I enjoy playing basketball and competing in public speaking events. I showed my first pig at our local livestock show when I was just 3 years old, and since then, have never gone a show season without pigs, cattle, or both in the barn! I have always been very fortunate to get to show multiple species because of the amazing people who have helped and mentored me at the barn. I couldn’t do it all without their hard work and support. I have been blessed to have success in the show ring including Champion Female at the National Shorthorn Show - 2023 Cattlemen’s Congress; Reserve Champion Hamp Barrow at the 2024 Oklahoma Youth Expo; Reserve Supreme Champion Bred & Owned Female at the 2025 Junior National Hereford Expo; and most recently Grand Champion Market Barrow at the 2026 American Royal. My family is heavily involved in all aspects of my life, supporting me in any and all things I do. I have
an older sister, Madilyn, who is 16 years old and shows cattle, pigs, sheep and goats as well. We spend a lot of hours together at the barn, and we are both very competitive making it pretty interesting when it’s time to decide who gets to show what animals! It’s not just my family who supports me, though. I am so lucky to have the very best of friends, that I consider family helping my sister and me every step of the way. People like Bob Listen, Kort Cole and Jaxon Swink, just to name a few. These people are truly extensions of our family. They are there for us at all times. We’ve walked so many miles together, literally, walking pigs in our pasture, and spent hours blowing show cattle with music blaring in the background! We could not enjoy the success we do without them, nor would we ever want to without their presence. I am so blessed and grateful for the opportunities I’ve already had in and out of the show ring and can’t wait for more! ●
