She is majoring in Agricultural Communications and upon graduation hopes to secure a Communications position in broadcasting and public relations as an advocate for agriculture. Taylor Schertz Texas Tech University Taylor is first Vice President of Block and Bridle, Scribe on the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Student Council, Ambassador for Agriculture, member of Agri-Techsan student recruitment team and member of Mortar Board. She was a Data Collector with Tyson Foods carcass red meat yield study, served as a beef industry advocate for Texas Beef Council and has been a student assistant with Red Raider Meats. Taylor was a member of the National Champion Wool Judging Team with recognition as a First-Team All American. She was also a member of the National Champion Meat Judging Team and a First-Team All American. Her meat judging team was named World Champions by winning an international contest in Australia. Taylor will graduate with a B.S. degree in Animal Science with an emphasis in Meat Science and has been offered an assistantship to remain at Texas Tech and coach the meat judging team while pursuing a Master’s degree in Meat Science and Muscle Biology. She then plans to continue her education with a Ph.D. in Ruminant Nutrition and pursue a career in teaching and research at a major university.

He served as Southeastern Director for Shorthorns, Vice President of Oklahoma Junior Cattlemen’s Association and was recognized as Oklahoma Junior Cattleman of the Year. In junior college, he served as President of the Connors State Aggie Club and was a College of Ag Ambassador. Will has been employed by White Veterinary Services, Shelby Veterinary Services and Jeff ’s Cattle Company. Will was recognized as a Junior College All American in Livestock Judging at Connors College and as an All American as well at the National 4-H Contest. Will has achieved success in livestock judging competitions by winning multiple top ten overall individual honors at major livestock judging contests. Will also excelled in FFA as a National FFA Talent participant and a National FFA Veterinary Medicine Proficiency finalist. Upon graduation, he plans to attend the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine to follow in his father’s footsteps of becoming a large animal veterinarian with a focus on bovine reproduction and embryo transfer. Justin Slabaugh Kansas State University Justin is President of Block and Bridle, Ambassador for the College of Agriculture, Coordinator for Kansas State Junior Beef Producer Day and member of K-State Transfer Student Association. Justin was a Marketing Intern with Elanco Animal Health, Stock Show University Intern with Sullivan Supply and an Undergraduate Research Assistant with Tyson Beef Plant Carcass Evaluation Service. He was a three-term Junior Board Member with the Indiana Junior Beef Cattle Association and was a delegate to the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Legislative Policy Conference.
