has been a member of a national champion FFA meat judging team and national champion collegiate wool judging, meat judging and meat science quiz bowl teams in addition to a world champion meat judging team at an international Australian contest. He will graduate from Texas Tech with an Animal Science degree with a concentration in meat science and then will pursue graduate studies in Food Science while serving as an assistant coach of the meat judging team. Conner then plans to pursue a career in industry with a focus on food security. MeganMills University of Tennessee Megan is a Herbert College of Agriculture Ambassador, Student Government Association Senator, Ignite Program Team Leader and Vice President of Risk Management for Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She grew up on a 100-head Angus operation in Eastern Tennessee. She has also worked as an intern with Athens Stockyard and Ag Central Farmers’ Cooperative. In addition, Megan has been a student assistant for the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been involved with numerous mission trips to Nicaragua which piqued her interest in international agriculture. She will graduate with a degree in Animal Science with minors in Spanish and International Agriculture and plans to attend veterinary school. She hopes to focus on large animal reproduction and become board certified in theriogenology. She also plans to continue her involvement in Nicaragua once she becomes a veterinarian. Ultimately, she would like to teach Animal Science courses at the university level. AmyNewman University of Wyoming Amy is the Public Relations Officer
for Collegiate Cattle Association, Treasurer for Wool Growers and Assistant Coach for the University of Wyoming Wool Judging Team. Amy is a student worker for the College of Agriculture Business Office and the Department of Animal Science. She has conducted undergraduate research with study entitled ”Effects of dietary zinc concentrations on lamb feedlot performance, rumen fluid parameters and carcass characteristics” under direction of Dr. Cody Gifford and also assisted with a research project investigating the impact of sheep coccidiosis and its targeted control on sustainable lamb production. Her internship experiences include working with the livestock show at the Northern International Livestock Exposition in Billings, MT and with Colorado State University Extension as livestock and shooting sports specialist. Amy was a member of the University of Wyoming Co-National Champion Wool Judging team and the State Champion 4-H Livestock Judging Team in Colorado. Her 4-H team placed third at national contest and represented the United States at the Royal Highland Judging Contest in Scotland. Amy will complete degrees in Agricultural Business and Animal Science with plans to attend graduate school in Agribusiness. She hopes to become an Agribusiness consultant working with farmers and ranchers.
Meats Intern with the University of Wyoming. She completed an Undergraduate research project, “Estimating commercial lamb carcass value with USDA yield grade and camera grade as carcass weight changes” under direction of Drs. Ben Rashford and Cody Gifford. She was a Colorado State 4-H Officer, American Dairy Goat Association member and a Colorado State 4-H Delegate to a Farm Service Agency Program in Washington, D.C. She was also a member of the Colorado State 4-H Livestock Judging Team with her sister which finished third at Louisville and competed in Royal Highland Show in Scotland. Courtney received the Gamma Sigma Delta Outstanding Senior Award for the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and will graduate with three separate B.S. degrees in Agricultural Business, Economics and Animal Science. She plans to complement her undergraduate education by obtaining a joint J.D./M.S. degree from the University of Wyoming and hopes to eventually open her own law firm to serve people in the Rocky Mountain Region. MadelinePatterson North Dakota State University Maddie serves as President of Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow, Reporter for Saddle and Sirloin and as an Ag Ambassador for the College of Agriculture, Food Systems and Natural Resources. She is also a member of the National Agri-Marketing Association and was a member of the marketing team. She has held summer internships with Linder Farm Network Broadcasting as a radio intern and with Northern Crops Institute as a marketing and communications intern. She is active in the National Junior Swine Association, National Swine Registry and Certified Pedigreed Swine through ownership of 40 sows for show pig production. She has given
