Alison Bueltel Iowa State University

Kansas Department of Agriculture Animal Health, Kansas Department of Agriculture International Marketing and Sure Champ/Biozyme. She a Board Member with the American International Charolais Association and was recognized as the number 1 junior for total Charolais breed registrations. She is also a member of the American Angus, Simmental and Hereford Associations as well as the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association. She was a Presidential Scholarship Recipient and also judged livestock at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. Cagney will graduate with a degree in Animal Sciences and Industry and plans to attend graduate school with a focus on Beef Cattle Reproductive Physiology and continue her role as an active decisionmaker in her family’s Simmental, Hereford and Charolais commercial and seedstock operation in South Dakota. Maddie Fugate Iowa State University Maddie is active in Block and Bridle as co-chair of Freshman-Transfer Barbeque and member of both the Beef and Swine Interest Groups. She is a member of the Agricultural Business Club and Professional Agricultural Students in which she was a four-time national contest qualifier and national winner with Swine Specialist Team. She was an Ambassador with the American Angus Association, Junior Board Member of the Illinois Junior Beef

and Illinois Club Pig Associations and mentor for National Junior Swine Association. She was a member of the Illinois State Champion Skill- a-thon team and Illinois State 4-H Livestock Judging team which was Reserve National Champion and she was named an All American. Maddie also judged at Lake Land College and was a Lake Land Ambassador. She has engaged in internships with Farm Story Meats, WYXY 99.1 radio station and Pig Planet. Maddie will graduate with a degree in Agricultural Business and plans to pursue either a master’s degree in Agricultural Economics or law degree with goal of developing educational programming on agricultural advocacy for youth to prepare them as spokespersons for agriculture.

Alison is Vice President of the Block and Bridle Club, Vice President of Beef Interest Group, Peer Mentor for the Department of Animal Science, member of Collegiate Cattlemen’s, Ambassador for the American Royal and Webmaster Co-Chair of the ISU Bacon Expo. She has travelled to Costa Rica, Italy and the United Kingdom through college study abroad opportunities. Alison has participated in internships with the Cargill Swine Nutrition, Riverview Ranch and New Fashion Pork. She has also been active in the American Junior Simmental Association since 2008. She was a member of the Reserve Champion Midwest Quadrathlon team in 2020. She is majoring in Animal Science and International Agriculture with a minor in Agribusiness. She plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Agribusiness, work with livestock nutritional consulting and eventually return to her family’s commercial cow/calf, feedlot, and row-crop operation in Iowa. Cagney Effling Kansas State University Cagney is a member of National Agri-Marketing Association, Young Farmers and Ranchers, Aggie Society and Phi Theta Kappa Honorary. She currently works at the KSU Purebred Beef Unit and has been an intern with

Conner serves as a Senator for the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources in Student Government, Vice President of Ag Council, Ambassador for Agriculture, and a member of the President’s Select Recruitment Team, Mortar Board and Block and Bridle organizations. He has participated in an internship with Elanco Animal Health and assisted with data collection on a grass-fed cutability carcass study. He was a recipient of the AMSA Undergraduate Achievement Award and was recipient of the prestigious Certified Angus Beef Colvin scholarship. Conner
