My name is Payton Rodgers I am 16 years old from Savannah, MO where I live with my parents, Blaine and Melissa, and my sister Reagan. My sister and I are very active showing cattle, sheep and pigs across the country and help with our family business, Rodgers Livestock, where we raise and sell show cattle. I am currently a Junior at Savannah High School broadened my knowledge of agriculture through the opportunity to participate in numerous activities and competitions such as public speaking, dairy cattle judging and meats evaluation. This summer I where I am active in FFA. FFA has really

I have also enjoyed the leadership roles I've participated in within my chapter, and I am currently serving as the Area 1 FFA president as well as our Chapter’s Student Advisor. Livestock judging has always been the contest I looked forward to participating in because of my love for evaluating livestock. This summer I had the opportunity to attend the Redlands Judging camp. I then joined our county 4-H judging team coached by Cody Sloan and Shane Bedwell. Our participation in the

My passion for animals started at a very young age growing up on our farm. My grandparents tell stories of when I was little and they would come to watch me and I would take them out on the ranger and go

look at our cows. I vividly remember going to check on calves with my dad and going to see my favorite cow “Charlotte '' while listening to AC/DC (I was probably 3 or 4). When I was 5 I got my first show pigs and began to show locally at the NJSA Western regional and other jackpots. Showing pigs was a great way to start my show career and we began to travel across the country showing at national shows. My first success showing came from pigs and they will always be one of my favorites to show. However, growing up around steer shows with our family business I always idolized the kids who showed for us
