our cross-country team and let me show his Simmental heifer, while my dad and I took cattle to the show. I’m glad once I made the grand drive with both heifers the rest of my family (mom, brothers: Colt and Kyler) drove up after cross country practice to watch and help me show. Although I enjoy playing sports, showing cattle is my favorite activity. We are lucky to work with and learn from a great group of people, including my uncle Jon DeClerck and Willie Weis and his family and crew. These people have helped made our success possible and taught me how to fit cattle, which is one of my favorite parts of showing. I’ve worked hard and have fit a leg on every heifer we’ve shown since junior nationals. •

I’ve been lucky to meet many friends and mentors showing livestock. Many of the individual’s that help my family are people that I look up to. When I get older, I hope to be a role model for others like they are to me. •

Although I’ve shown at several state and national shows, my favorite experiences include receiving 4th Nationals and showing at the American Royal, where I was lucky enough to have the Reserve Champion Simmental Heifer in both the Open overall purebred at Simmental Junior
