Winning World Beef Expo was the best way possible to end my junior showing career. I started showing when I was eight years old as a 4-H member and then later as an FFA member as well. I had always dreamed of winning a big show. This would not have been possible without the help, support, and love from my dad and mom (Doug and Lisa), little sister, (Isabella)
and grandparents (Danny and Bev Kuipers and Larry and Judy Hanson). A tremendous thank you to the England's (Nelson, Keith, Brenda, Steve, and crew) for being there every step of the way. Their kind, humble, and goal-driven personalities made my last year very enjoyable. My steer was raised by Peine Brothers in Garnett, Kansas and came with the name of Peaches. We traveled to various shows this year, but
World Beef was by far our favorite. My role has now changed, but I am excited to watch my little sister show again, especially since she took a few years off. I am blessed to have grown up in this industry and to be a 5th generation beef producer on both sides of my family. Showing and raising cattle has changed my life in such a positive manner and I am thankful for everything it has taught me. •
