Hi, my name is Ashton Dillow. I will be a junior at Southern Illinois University, majoring in Agribusiness Economics. I grew up on a fifth-generation farm in Villa Ridge, Illinois. We row-crop 8,500 acres and have 120 head of cattle. My great-great-grandfather was the oldest polled Hereford breeder in the state at the time of his death. I began my show cattle career by exhibiting Herefords at the local level when I joined 4-H at the age of nine. I attended my first North American in 2017 with a Hereford. I decided to venture into the Angus

breed in 2018, when my grandparents, Bob and Christy, bought a heifer from Prairie View Farms. In 2019, we had the opportunity to purchase PVF Missie 8246, who is named Delilah. She was Reserve Grand Champion Angus Female and 5th Overall in the Land of Lincoln at the Illinois State Fair in 2019, and won the Early Senior Division at the 2020 NJAS. My bred-and-

owned heifer this year, Tizzy, is her daughter. The similarities in their disposition are uncanny, and as the person on the halter, it is hard to tell
a difference even seven years later. Being Reserve Grand Champion Bred-and-Owned Female at my last Angus Junior National is a dream come true, but little did I know, God still had more in store. At my first NJAS in 2018 at Madison, Wisconsin, I knew I
