My name is Hadlie Bell from Bristow, Oklahoma. I am 14 years old and an eighth grader attending Bristow Middle School. I am the daughter of Steven and Julie Bell and the little sister of Abby, Ruby, and Tate Bell. This October I had the opportunity to exhibit the Grand Champion Market Steer at the Tulsa State Fair with my steer “Vido”. I can still vividly remember writing down a set of goals around the age of eight years old, one of those goals was to win the Tulsa State Fair steer show. To say that I’ve accomplished this goal that my family and I have been trying to achieve for a very long time is absolutely mind blowing to me. My family and I have always admired each calf and family that has won the Tulsa State Fair, hoping and praying that one day we would have the Grand Champion steer in our own show barn. Thinking back to October 2, 2024 in the ring when I received the Grand Champion slap, tears come to
my eyes. I’ll never forget as I turned to go out of the ring my proud, teary- eyed sister, Ruby, was at the gate with her arms wide open waiting for me. I immediately hustled over and gave her the biggest hug ever with happy tears flowing out of both of our eyes. This year at TSF, I also had the opportunity and blessing to win the Grand Champion Prospect Steer with a black steer named “Jackpot.” There are so many great steers that are shown in the Market Steer show and Prospect Steer show at TSF and I still cannot believe that we won both shows! We only had two fat steers in the cool room this summer. Vido and Ted. We decided to split them and take one to Tulsa and the other to Kansas City. My sister, Ruby, showed the other half of our incredible pair, Ted, at the American Royal in Kansas City, Missouri and was fortunate to win the market steer show there as well! This year our family also had the opportunity to exhibit the
Grand Champion Market Steer and the Champion Limousin Steer at the Oklahoma Youth Expo. 2024 has been an astonishing year for our family and crew, to say the least! On top of that, my oldest sister, Abby, won the American Royal Market Steer Show in 2020 which is truly an unbelievable accomplishment for our family to win twice! Outside of showing, I am deeply involved in FFA at my school. I am a leader in FCA and active in the Faith Baptist Church Youth Group. I also play basketball and until this summer I’ve played softball since I was three years old. I gave up my time for softball to work with these incredible show steers this summer and I’m so glad I did! I am also in my second year of livestock judging which I hope to pursue further in highschool. There’s too many people to thank that have helped me along my show journey. First and foremost, I give
