TRADITION MEETS EXCELLENCE BLACK HAWK EAST LIVESTOCK JUDGING TEAM For decades, the Black Hawk East Livestock Judging Team has stood as a symbol of tradition, excellence, and opportunity in collegiate livestock evaluation. Established by Dan Hoge, the program has built a national reputation for producing skilled evaluators, articulate communicators, and industry leaders. BHE’s team is recognized across the country for its consistent success in the junior college judging circuit and its ability to prepare students for the next step, whether that’s transferring to a four-year university or entering a career in the livestock industry. The foundation of BHE’s success lies in its commitment to excellence both in and out of the judging arena. The team is led by Dr. Blake Bloomberg and Grace Angotti, who brings together a dynamic group of talented individuals who embody that legacy. Dr. Bloomberg, who joined the program after years of national coaching success, has elevated the team’s focus on consistency and professional development. Angotti, a BHE alumna and former collegiate competitor herself, starting her journey at BHE- brings an energetic approach to mentorship, emphasizing growth, teamwork, and a passion for the livestock industry. Together, their leadership combines experience with relatability—creating an environment where students are challenged and inspired. What makes the 2025 team truly special is its blend of determination, unity, and resilience. These students travel thousands of miles, spend countless hours in practice, and represent BHE with pride at contests across the country. Whether in Denver, Louisville, or Kansas City, they carry with them not only their own ambitions but also the proud history of a program built on hard work and heart. The Black Hawk East Livestock Judging Team continues to prove that success is measured not only in banners and plaques but in the growth of its members—young men and women becoming leaders, advocates, and lifelong ambassadors of the livestock industry.
