HOW DID YOU GET STARTED SHOWING? My dad grew up showing lambs at his county fair and introduced me to it as soon as I was of the age I could show. I always had dreams of winning at the national level beyond the local level. I’ve always loved to compete, and showing livestock gave me a way to do that while working toward something every day. When I first started, I didn’t really know what to expect, but it’s taught me so much about working hard, learning from mistakes, and staying consistent. WHO HAS INFLUENCED YOU THE MOST? I’ve had a lot of people who have made a big impact on me. My family always pushes me to work hard and stay humble. My dad, along with Justin and Ethan, have taught me so much about feeding, daily care, and getting one ready. I’ve learned how much every small detail matters when it comes to preparing a lamb for the show ring. WHAT DID WINNING THE AMERICAN ROYAL MEAN TO YOU? Winning Grand Champion Market Lamb at the American Royal meant the world to me. When I got the handshake from Mr. Smithwick in the grand drive, it was a moment I’ll never forget. I felt a huge wave of gratitude and relief all at once and thought about everyone who helped me and supported me through the season. It’s one of those moments you dream about, and it made every bit of work worth it.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR CHAMPION LAMB.

My lamb’s name is Bronco, and he was raised by Will and Lauren Miller at W/L Livestock. From the beginning, he stood out. Bronco had the kind of look and attitude you hope for, and he just kept getting better every week. He knew he was meant to be a show lamb and would glide around the ring effortlessly. He was the kind that made you excited to go to the barn every day. WHAT WAS THE JOURNEY LIKE THIS YEAR? From the day we brought Bronco home, I knew he was special. It wasn’t always easy, but we kept working and learning every step of the way. Over the summer he kept improving and won several shows, including the Cornhusker Showdown, which was a goal of mine. Each time he went in the ring, he got more confident and looked better than before. Watching everything come together in Kansas City and getting to celebrate with my family and show team was something I’ll never forget. WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO THANK? I want to thank God first and then my family for always being there for me, especially my dad. He’s been there every step of the way, always helping, always pushing me to be my best, and never letting me give less than 100 percent. I wouldn’t be where I am without him. I also appreciate the support my grandparents give me by coming to as many shows as they can. I also want to thank Justin and Ethan for believing in me and for all the time they’ve put into helping me get better. And thank you to Will and Lauren Miller at W/L Livestock for raising Bronco and being such great people. ●
