Setting Goals Trusting in God who knows our heart and wants a relationship with us.

s we shop around for calves this spring, one of the things that comes up frequently in conversation is our goals. Obviously, we want
all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Paul has a clear goal to know Christ and teach others about Christ no matter what the circumstances are. No matter what situation he’s in, his goal didn’t change. He shared about Christ in jail, while being beaten and not knowing if he would live or die. Paul knew that his testimony and transformation of going from an evil person, to learning about Christ and being forgiven had the power to lead others to Christ. He continues to make a difference by teaching others about Christ. As much as we enjoy showing steers, it’s reassuring to know that even if we don’t reach our goal in the show ring, we can always reach spiritual goals. Accomplishing goals always takes time and effort. If we are willing to put in the work, growing in Christ is the most attainable and rewarding goal there is. ●
to do the best we can at every show we go to, but we also want to be realistic based on our budget
and
resources. The
steer we take to Denver will most likely be our back up Fort Worth steer, so making the sale in Denver and being able to run in the tougher classes at Fort Worth fits our program. At the slick shows, we may have a breed steer in hopes of getting a banner in that breed. In everything you do, having a clear goal is very important. This also carries over into everyday life. When you wake up in the morning, what is your goal? Is your goal just to get through the day, or to make it to Friday? If the goal is just to survive this earth, we are all going to fail. Paul writes in Philippians 3:12-14 “12 Not that I have already obtained
